SwisspearlLarge-format fiber cement facade panels
Installed by Side-Pro Exteriors across Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma

Swisspearl is an architect’s panel, sold to architects. If you are re-siding a house, we will tell you honestly whether it fits.

Swisspearl makes large-format through-colored fiber cement facade panels — the Largo range at 6, 8 and 12 mm — for ventilated rainscreen assemblies. The material is cement, cellulose, water, synthetic fibres and air, and the color is in the panel rather than on it.

The frost data is the figure that earns attention in this climate: 100 freeze-thaw cycles at a residual strength ratio above 0.75 under EN 12467. A panel on a Seattle or Bellevue elevation that crosses freezing a dozen times a winter is being asked precisely that question, and the answer is documented.

It is a commercial and architectural product first. Swisspearl’s North American site is written for specifiers, there is no residential lap siding line, and there is no homeowner product page at all. On a modern Tacoma or Seattle house with a designed facade it can be exactly right. On a conventional re-side it usually is not, and we would rather say that than quote it.

We install Swisspearl rainscreen assemblies on residential and commercial buildings across Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and the wider Puget Sound region.

Two cautions you should hear from us rather than find out later. Swisspearl publishes no warranty — its US download center carries technical data sheets, EPDs, installation manuals and approvals, and no warranty document at all. Where a warranty is quoted for Swisspearl it generally belongs to a North American distributor rather than the manufacturer, and those are not the same thing. And on biological growth, Swisspearl says only that the alkaline composition of the material resists it: no moss claim, no algae claim, no test standard. We are not going to upgrade that sentence on their behalf.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 100 freeze-thaw cycles. At a residual strength ratio above 0.75 under EN 12467 — the documented answer to what a Puget Sound winter actually asks of a panel.
  • Color through the panel. Not a surface coat. A cut edge, a drilled fixing and a weathered face all stay the same color.
  • Largo panels in three thicknesses. 6, 8 and 12 mm, selected against span and fixing method.
  • Non-combustible construction. Cement, cellulose, water, synthetic fibres and air — nothing in it that burns.
  • 14.6% water absorption over 24 hours. With an average density of 112.4 lb/ft³. Published figures, not adjectives.
  • Built for ventilated rainscreen. Designed to hang on a subframe with a drained cavity behind, which is how a facade survives this climate.
  • An architectural product, honestly. There is no residential lap siding line and no homeowner catalog. On a designed facade it excels; on a conventional re-side it is usually more panel than the building needs.
  • No published warranty. Swisspearl issues none. Warranties quoted for these panels generally belong to a North American distributor, which is a different thing entirely.

Why Choose Side-Pro

Swisspearl is specified by architects and installed by subframe. Neither of those is a siding job in the ordinary sense.

Large-format through-colored panel is a facade system, and the work that determines whether it succeeds happens before any panel is lifted: carrier alignment, cavity continuity, joint setting-out and a fixing pattern that has been thought about rather than defaulted to. Panels this size faithfully report every error in the frame behind them, and there is no trim or paint to soften the result.

Subframe in planeThe carrier levelled and aligned properly, because the panels will show every deviation in it
Joints set out firstPanel layout and joint lines resolved across the whole elevation before ordering, since offcuts cannot be re-colored
Cavity kept continuousA genuine drained and ventilated cavity, detailed through openings and plane changes rather than interrupted by them

We install Swisspearl rainscreen assemblies on residential and commercial buildings across Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and the wider Puget Sound region, usually working alongside the project architect.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Swisspearl differ from other fiber cement panels available in Seattle?

Swisspearl is distinguished by its extensive color range, precision manufacturing tolerances, and high-quality acrylic finish system. It tends to be specified on projects where color expression and visual impact are priorities alongside technical performance.

Is Swisspearl available in custom colors?

Swisspearl offers a wide standard palette and can accommodate custom color requests for larger projects. Contact Side-Pro with your color requirements and project scale for a custom color assessment.

How does Swisspearl's finish hold up in Seattle's UV environment?

Although Seattle's UV levels are lower than sunnier climates, Swisspearl's acrylic finish is engineered for high UV resistance and performs well throughout the Pacific Northwest region with minimal color shift over time.

Can Swisspearl be used on a residential home renovation?

Absolutely. Swisspearl is used on both new construction and renovation projects. Side-Pro works with residential homeowners who want a distinctive, European-influenced aesthetic with premium performance.
